Commonly chosen wood types include poplar, birch, pine, and eucalyptus. Each type is evaluated for its unique characteristics such as texture, grain, hardness, and moisture content. 2. Veneer Preparation: Once the finest logs are selected, they are skillfully cut to the desired lengths and expertly sliced into veneers using a state-of-the-art rotary cutter. This process requires precise control of parameters such as rotary cutting speed and tool angle to achieve uniformly thick and smooth veneers. For specialized plywood needs, a planing method is employed to slice wood blocks into thin, fine veneers. This attention to detail ensures the highest quality veneer preparation.
3. Veneer Drying: The freshly cut veneers, rich in moisture, undergo a rigorous drying process. Two methods are employed: natural drying, which is cost-effective but weather-dependent, and artificial drying, which uses advanced techniques like steam and hot air drying. The latter quickly adjusts the moisture content to an optimal range of 8% to 12%, significantly enhancing production efficiency and ensuring the veneers are primed for the next stages of production.
4. Gluing and Assembly: Post-drying, the veneers proceed to the gluing process where eco-friendly adhesives are meticulously applied. The adhesive quality is vital for the plywood's bonding strength and environmental sustainability. Panels are assembled with precision, adhering to the rule where the fiber directions of adjacent layers are perpendicular. 6. Post-Processing: After hot pressing, the plywood undergoes meticulous post-processing to perfect its final form. Edge trimming eliminates imperfections, ensuring precise dimensions. Subsequent sanding refines the surface, making it smoother and flatter, readying it for decorative enhancements like veneering and painting.
