Production Process
1. Log Selection: The journey to premium plywood begins with choosing the finest logs. We leverage premier wood species such as poplar, birch, pine, and eucalyptus. Each selection is meticulously evaluated for texture, grain, hardness, and moisture content to guarantee they adhere to our stringent production standards. Poplar, known for its lightweight and soft texture, offers excellent workability for standard plywood, while birch, with its robust structure and stunning grain, is perfect for crafting luxurious, high-end plywood.
2. Veneer Preparation: With precision, selected logs are cut to the optimal length and expertly sliced into veneers using a rotary cutter. During this process, we meticulously control rotary cutting speed and tool angles, ensuring even thickness and a flawless veneer surface. For plywood with specialized requirements, we employ a planing method, skillfully transforming wood blocks into delicate wood chips.
3. Veneer Drying: Freshly rotary-cut veneers are replete with moisture and necessitate drying. We employ two drying techniques: natural and artificial. Natural drying is economical yet weather-dependent, while artificial drying-using steam and hot air-efficiently moderates veneer moisture content to an optimal 8%-12%, significantly boosting production efficiency.
4. Gluing and Assembly: Post-drying, veneers undergo a gluing process where eco-friendly adhesives are meticulously applied. The adhesive's quality is paramount, influencing the plywood's bonding integrity and environmental prowess. Once adhesive is applied, panel assembly follows the principle of perpendicular fiber orientation between adjacent layers to fortify board stability.
5. Hot Pressing Bonding: Assembled slabs enter a hot press, subjected to precise temperature and pressure (100ºC - 150ºC and 3-10MPa). The hot pressing duration, dictated by sheet thickness and adhesive properties, spans from minutes to tens of minutes. This process solidifies the adhesive, flawlessly uniting each veneer layer.
6. Post-Processing: Post hot-pressing, plywood undergoes meticulous edge trimming and sanding. Edge cutting refines dimensional precision by removing uneven edges, while sanding enhances surface smoothness, paving the way for exquisite decorative finishes like veneering and painting.
