Poplar wood, with its light and soft texture, is ideal for ordinary plywood due to its excellent processing capabilities. Meanwhile, the hard and beautifully grained birch is perfect for high-end plywood, adding a touch of elegance and durability.
2. Veneer Preparation: Our selected logs are transformed into veneers through a precise rotary cutting process. Each piece is meticulously sliced to ensure a uniform thickness and a smooth surface, thanks to the controlled parameters of cutting speed and tool angle. For specialized plywood varieties, we also employ the planing method to create thin, precise wood chips, tailored to meet specific needs.
3. Veneer Drying: Freshly cut veneers boast high moisture content and require careful drying to optimize their quality. We offer two drying methodologies: cost-efficient natural drying, which is weather-dependent, and rapid artificial drying using steam or hot air to achieve desired moisture levels between 8% and 12%. This enhances productivity while maintaining the high standards of our production.
4. Gluing and Assembly: Dried veneers are then treated with environmentally friendly adhesives, crucial for ensuring the plywood's strength and eco-friendliness. Our meticulous gluing process guarantees an even application, followed by strategic assembly where the fibers of adjacent layers are oriented perpendicularly to enhance structural stability and integrity.
5. Hot Pressing Bonding: Assembled slabs undergo hot pressing bonding, subjected to precise temperatures (100ºC - 150ºC) and pressures (3-10MPa). Depending on sheet thickness and adhesive characteristics, this process lasts from a few to several tens of minutes. The hot pressing technique effectively cures the adhesive, securing a robust bond between each veneer layer.
6. Post-Processing Excellence: Post-hot pressing, our plywood undergoes refining processes such as edge trimming and sanding. This ensures dimension accuracy and a flawless surface, ready for further decorative applications like veneering and painting, enhancing the final product's aesthetic and functional appeal.
