Production Process Overview
1. Log Selection: Quality begins at the source. Selecting the finest logs is essential for crafting premium plywood. We use diverse wood types such as poplar, birch, pine, and eucalyptus, each chosen for specific qualities like texture, grain, hardness, and moisture content, ensuring they fulfill rigorous production standards. Poplar offers lightness and ease of processing, ideal for standard plywood, while birch provides a hard texture and elegant grain, perfect for luxurious, high-end plywood.
2. Veneer Preparation: After meticulous log selection, the wood is cut and transformed into veneers using precise rotary cutting. By controlling variables like cutting speed and tool angle with precision, we ensure each veneer boasts a consistent thickness and a flawlessly smooth surface. For specialty plywoods requiring unique qualities, additional planing techniques slice wood blocks into ultra-thin, refined veneers.
3. Veneer Drying: Freshly cut veneers contain high moisture and need expert drying. We offer natural and artificial drying processes. Natural drying is cost-effective but weather-dependent, while artificial methods like steam and hot air drying swiftly adjust moisture levels to an optimal 8%-12%, boosting production efficiency and quality.
4. Gluing and Assembly: Post-drying, veneers advance to the gluing phase. We apply premium, eco-friendly adhesives evenly, ensuring robust bonding and superior environmental performance. Assembling follows a precise method where the fiber direction of each layer is perpendicular to its neighbor, ensuring unmatched stability and structural integrity.
5. Hot Pressing Bonding: Assembled slabs undergo hot pressing in precise conditions-temperatures between 100ºC to 150ºC and pressures of 3-10MPa. The press duration, based on sheet thickness and adhesive characteristics, ensures thorough curing. This step is crucial, securing a firm, unified bond across all veneer layers.
6. Post-Processing: After hot pressing, the plywood enters a refining stage. Edge trimming ensures precise dimensional accuracy, while sanding smooths the surface, preparing it for stunning decorative finishes like veneering and painting, elevating both function and aesthetic appeal.
