Production Process - Mastery in Every Step
1. Log Selection: The essence of creating top-tier plywood begins with selecting the finest quality logs. Emphasizing excellence, our choice wood types include poplar, birch, pine, and eucalyptus. Each piece is scrutinized for texture, grain, hardness, moisture content, and other vital indicators to ensure they surpass production standards. Poplar, with its lightweight and pliable nature, excels in regular plywood crafting. Meanwhile, birch, renowned for its robust texture and exquisite grain, serves as a prime candidate for luxurious, high-end plywood applications.
2. Veneer Preparation: Transforming logs into superior veneers involves precision and expertise. Carefully sliced to perfect lengths, the logs undergo rotary cutting. Here, meticulous control over factors such as the speed of rotation and tool angle is pivotal, ensuring each veneer boasts uniform thickness and a seamless surface. For plywood with unique specifications, a planing technique is also used to skillfully slice wood blocks into delicate chips.
3. Veneer Drying: Freshly rotary-cut veneers hold high moisture levels, necessitating a strategic drying process. Two methods prevail: natural drying, cost-effective yet weather-dependent and time-consuming, and artificial drying, utilizing steam or hot air. The latter swiftly manages moisture content, maintaining it within an optimal range of 8% to 12%. This efficiency amplifies our production capabilities.
4. Gluing and Assembly: Post-drying, veneers advance to the gluing stage where eco-friendly adhesives are meticulously applied, setting the stage for robust bonding. The adhesive's quality is integral to both the structural integrity and environmental standards of the plywood. Following gluing, the assembly respects the principle of perpendicular fiber orientation across layers, fortifying the board's structural reliability.
5. Hot Pressing Bonding: Assembled slabs are subjected to the transformative hot pressing phase. Here, the magic of heat (100ºC - 150ºC) and pressure (3-10MPa) unfolds, binding each veneer layer securely. The duration hinges on sheet thickness and adhesive traits, typically spanning minutes to several tens of minutes. This process solidifies the adhesive bond, crafting a unified, resilient plywood.
6. Post-Processing: Post hot-pressing, plywood undergoes meticulous finishing touches such as edge trimming and sanding. Edge trimming refines the board's dimensions by removing irregularities. Sanding perfects the surface, preparing it for decorative enhancements like veneering and painting, thereby elevating its aesthetic appeal.
