Production Process
1. Log Selection: The cornerstone of our exceptional plywood begins with the meticulous selection of high-quality logs. Our commonly used wood types include poplar, birch, pine, and eucalyptus, each chosen for their unique attributes. Key considerations during selection include the wood's texture, grain, hardness, and moisture content, ensuring they surpass stringent production requirements. For instance, poplar is favored for its light, soft texture and excellent processing capabilities, ideal for standard plywood. In contrast, birch, renowned for its hardness and exquisite grain, is preferred for high-end plywood creations.
2. Veneer Preparation: Once selected, logs are precisely cut into suitable lengths and expertly sliced into veneers using a rotary cutter. The rotary cutting process demands exact control over parameters like cutting speed and tool angle, guaranteeing that each veneer is of consistent thickness and boasts a flawlessly smooth surface. For plywood with specialized demands, a planing method is employed to meticulously slice wood blocks into thin wood chips.
3. Veneer Drying: Freshly rotary-cut veneers possess elevated moisture levels, necessitating diligent drying treatment. We offer two drying methods: cost-effective natural drying, which is subject to weather conditions and features an extended cycle, and artificial drying. The latter, utilizing steam and hot air drying techniques, swiftly regulates veneer moisture content to within an optimal range of 8% to 12%, significantly boosting production efficiency.
4. Gluing and Assembly: Post-drying, veneers undergo a vital gluing process where eco-friendly adhesives are skillfully applied. The adhesive's quality is critical to ensuring the plywood's bonding strength and environmental integrity. Once adhesive application is complete, panels are methodically assembled, ensuring that adjacent layers' fiber directions are perpendicular, fortifying the board's structural stability.
5. Hot Pressing Bonding: Assembled slabs are subjected to a precise hot pressing bonding process in a hot press, typically at temperatures between 100ºC - 150ºC and pressures ranging from 3-10MPa. The hot pressing duration is tailored to the sheet's thickness and adhesive properties, spanning several minutes to tens of minutes. This process expertly cures the adhesive, ensuring each veneer layer is robustly bonded.
6. Post-Processing: Following hot pressing, plywood is further refined via post-processing treatments such as edge trimming and sanding. Edge trimming removes irregularities, guaranteeing dimensional accuracy. Sanding smooths and flattens the board's surface, priming it for decorative enhancements like veneering and painting, elevating its aesthetic appeal.
