Production Process
1. Log Selection: The journey to our superior plywood begins with the careful selection of top-tier logs, as they form the cornerstone of exceptional plywood quality. We primarily use wood types like poplar, birch, pine, and eucalyptus, each chosen with precision. Factors such as grain, texture, hardness, and moisture content are meticulously evaluated to align with our strict production standards. Poplar, known for its lightweight and soft texture, offers excellent processing capabilities, making it ideal for standard plywood. In contrast, birch, renowned for its robust texture and captivating grain, is the epitome of choice for luxury plywood crafting.
2. Veneer Preparation: Once the ideal logs are handpicked, they are expertly cut to length and transformed into fine veneers through precision rotary cutting. This critical step demands the accurate calibration of parameters such as rotary speed and tool angle, ensuring veneers of uniform thickness and silky smooth surfaces. For plywood with unique requirements, we employ the planing method, skillfully slicing wood blocks into ultra-thin wood chips.
3. Veneer Drying: Freshly cut veneers hold a high moisture content and thus require efficient drying. We employ two methods: cost-effective natural drying, albeit longer and weather-dependent, and artificial techniques like steam and hot air drying, which rapidly adjust veneer moisture to the optimal 8%-12%. This accelerates production while maintaining impeccable quality.
4. Gluing and Assembly: Dried veneers proceed to the crucial gluing stage, where we apply eco-friendly adhesives uniformly on their surfaces. The adhesive's quality is vital, ensuring strong bonds and excellent environmental performance. Once glued, panels are meticulously assembled, aligning fiber directions perpendicularly across layers, enhancing the board's stability and robustness.
5. Hot Pressing Bonding: Assembled slabs undergo hot pressing, where they're subjected to a controlled temperature range (100ºC - 150ºC) and pressure (3-10MPa). The duration varies based on sheet thickness and adhesive properties, typically from minutes to tens of minutes. This step solidifies the adhesive, cohesively binding each veneer layer.
6. Post-Processing: Following hot pressing, our plywood undergoes comprehensive post-processing, including precise edge trimming and refined sanding. Edge trimming ensures perfect dimensional accuracy, while sanding delivers a flawlessly smooth and flat surface, ready for subsequent decorative enhancements like veneering and painting.
