Production Process

Commonly embraced wood varieties such as poplar, birch, pine, and eucalyptus are meticulously chosen. Critical attention is paid to a gamut of indicators - texture, grain, hardness, and moisture content - all ensuring conformity with stringent production standards. For instance, poplar, with its lightweight and softness, boasts excellent processing capabilities, making it a favorite for regular plywood. Birch, with its robust nature and captivating grain, is the elite choice for crafting high-end plywood.
2. Veneer Preparation: Precision and finesse define the veneer preparation stage. Selected logs are artfully cut into lengths and skillfully sliced into veneers using a state-of-the-art rotary cutter. During this process, meticulous control over parameters such as rotary cutting speed and tool angle ensures a uniformly thick veneer with a flawlessly smooth surface. For plywood with unique specifications, the planing method is deployed, meticulously slicing wood blocks into delicate thin wood chips.
3. Veneer Drying: The journey from raw veneer to perfection begins with drying. Freshly rotary-cut veneers contain high moisture levels, necessitating drying treatments. Two methods are at play: natural and artificial drying. While natural drying is cost-effective, it is susceptible to weather fluctuations and extended cycles. Artificial drying, on the other hand, leverages techniques like steam and hot air drying, swiftly bringing veneer moisture levels to an optimal range of 8% to 12%, thereby supercharging production efficiency.
4. Gluing and Assembly: Precision and care define the gluing phase. Dried veneers proceed to the gluing process, where an even layer of environmentally friendly adhesives graces their surfaces. The adhesive's quality is imperative, influencing both bonding strength and environmental performance. Following glue application, panels are meticulously assembled, adhering to the rule where adjacent layers' fiber directions are perpendicular, ensuring a stable and robust board structure.
5. Hot Pressing Bonding: The meticulously assembled slabs embark on a transformative journey through hot pressing. They are carefully placed in a hot press, subjected to temperatures ranging from 100ºC to 150ºC and pressures of 3-10MPa. The duration of hot pressing, determined by sheet thickness and adhesive properties, spans several minutes to tens of minutes. This process cures the adhesive, fusing each veneer layer into a unified, resilient bond.
6. Post-Processing: The final touches in the plywood's crafting involve meticulous post-processing. Post hot-pressing, plywood undergoes processes like edge trimming and sanding. Edge cutting eliminates irregularities, ensuring precise dimensions. Sanding imparts a smooth, flat surface, poised for decorative enhancements like veneering and painting, elevating the plywood to a realm of refined elegance.
