Production Process
1. Log Selection: The genesis of superior plywood lies in the meticulous selection of premium logs. We employ wood types such as poplar, birch, pine, and eucalyptus, each chosen with precision based on texture, grain, hardness, and moisture content. For instance, poplar's lightweight and soft texture makes it ideal for standard plywood, whereas birch offers a hard texture and stunning grain, perfect for crafting premium plywood.
2. Veneer Preparation: Our carefully chosen logs are expertly cut into precise lengths and skillfully sliced into veneers using a rotary cutter. Meticulous control of cutting speed and tool angle ensures a uniform thickness and silky surface. For specialty requirements, we use planing techniques to craft thin wood chips, ensuring each veneer meets the highest standards.
3. Veneer Drying: Freshly sliced veneers possess high moisture content, necessitating efficient drying. We offer both natural and artificial drying methods. Natural drying is economical yet dependent on weather and time, while artificial drying utilizes steam and hot air to swiftly reduce moisture to an optimal 8% - 12%, significantly boosting production efficiency.
4. Gluing and Assembly: Once dried, veneers proceed to the gluing stage, where we apply eco-friendly adhesives with precision. The adhesive quality is vital for plywood's bonding strength and environmental footprint. Panels are then assembled following a cross-grain rule, ensuring a robust and stable board structure.
5. Hot Pressing Bonding: Assembled slabs undergo a transformative hot pressing process, bonding under controlled temperature (100ºC - 150ºC) and pressure (3-10MPa). The duration, from minutes to tens of minutes, depends on sheet thickness and adhesive traits. This critical step cures the adhesive, securing the layers of veneer firmly together.
6. Post-Processing: Post hot-pressing, plywood is refined through edge trimming and sanding. Edge trimming ensures dimensional precision, while sanding enhances the surface smoothness, preparing it for subsequent decorative detailing like veneering and painting, ensuring a flawless finish.
Mixed-wood Plywood Detailed Uses
Basic Structure of Ordinary Furniture: Widely used in crafting internal support structures of furniture, such as wardrobe partitions and drawer side panels, mixed-wood plywood offers essential strength at a cost-effective rate. It also forms the frames of basic tables and chairs, ensuring foundational stability for various furniture pieces.
Temporary Building Materials: An economical choice for temporary construction, mixed-wood plywood is extensively used in creating walls, roofs, and floors of dormitories and movable plank houses at sites. Its affordability helps maintain budget control while sufficiently meeting short-term structural needs.
General Packaging: In the packaging realm, mixed-wood plywood is a go-to for constructing packing boxes with moderate material requirements, ideal for agricultural products and industrial parts. It provides essential protection against transport-induced damage, offering a cost-effective solution for large-scale packaging needs.
